Welcome to Mums Make Lists…

We’re Alice and Luci, two London mums in constant search of quick simple solutions that help us juggle the never ending challenges motherhood throws at us.

With daughters born just 3 days apart in 2010, we both struggled to find practical advice from real mums to help us with tricky pregnancies and the exhausting haze of early motherhood.

So we started to write it down for ourselves here at Mums Make Lists … tips that worked for us and for friends … and those that didn’t … plus stuff we sooo wish we'd known at the time!

And as our little mischiefs grow up and chuck totally new, curve balls at us on a weekly basis, we share all the experiences we can that might make this mothering malarkey a little easier.

Everything from our fave tips for helping kids calm down to the simplest cleaning routinehelp with kids starting to read and high energy snacks for exhausted mums ...

We are NOT experts. And we live far from picture perfect lives but this is the simple, practical stuff that has helped us and that we hope can help you.

[ALICE]
Hi I'm Alice

I live in a lovely leafy corner of south London with my daughter.

There's nothing we love better than pottering about our beautiful local park and woodland ... yep London has woodland!! ... enjoying the outdoors and hunting for bugs, berries and more.

I'm chronically messy and rubbish at housework

As an older first time mum I suffered badly with polyhydramnios and after an early induction and emergency c-Section struggled to breast feed due to low milk supply.

I also struggled with the sudden realisation that an awful lot of motherhood involves large piles of laundry plus never ending meals, cleaning and mess.

lovely corner with a wonderful park ...and urban woods ... never happier than outdoors and science

As my daughter started school enjoyed teaching her to read

Personally I'm still struggling with post baby weight, lack of exercise and rubbish sleep

This year become ever so slightly obsessed with clutter ... not just the physical things overflowing in our house but the ridiculous amount of stuff I have crammed in my brain

I am trying very hard to declutter and simplify our family life in any way I can
